How to make a six sided snowflake

Its Aspen, here to show you a really simple and easy way to make a six sided snowflake. Grinch, I highly recommend this.

First, you start out with a plain piece of paper

then fold a corner over

and cut the excess off

and fold it in half again.

This is the hard part: fold to form a "half a kite"

then fold the rest over

and cut AT AN ANGLE!

Then you cat cut random cuts like this

and end up with this!

Note: the smaller, the more cool and realistic!

Cedar waiting to compete in the spelling bee. I am pretty sure that my kids didn't inherit the spelling gene from me. It is so fun to watch them excell at something I am so bad at. Cedar won his class bee and was representing them in the school bee. Aspen was runner up for her class. (side note: the boy who won her class bee also won the school bee.)

I know my kids didn't get it from me, but Aspen and Cedar both did really well in their class spelling bees.

Happy Thanksgiving! This year Danny came. We bbq-ed the turkey and it was beautiful and delicious. Then Danny took us to see the Muppets and we laughed through the show. Now we are finishing off the day with a roaring game of Monopoly. (it looks like Jonathon and I are getting beat soundly. I don't know who is winning, Olive is making a real run for it. Aspen is right in there and Cedar and Danny are haning tuff. 16 min to go and time will only tell!

It's been a week and we gave the kids each a bag to put their favorite candy from trick or treating into it. No one but them can have this candy. The rest went into the giant pumpkin. This is family candy and anyone can choose from it. (I'll try the diet again after Easter...)

Dear Alex,
Thank you for asking to see Linden in his costume. If you hadn't have asked I might never have gotten a picture of him where you can see his costume. He wore his bat costume to our trunk or treat, but can you believe it? I didn't take ANY pictures of the trunk or treat. I almost didn't take him trick or treating because he had a stuffy nose. I even tried to bribe Aspen, Cedar and Olive with a movie and bag of candy from the store. (they didn't go for that at all!)

When we put Linden in his costume he just wanted to roll over and crawl away. I got a few pictures of his back! We tried again today and finally got one! He wasn't happy at first, but a trip outside to the swings fixed that. He loves to swing!

thanks for letting us come and visit you! We miss you already! Next time we see you Linden will be able to play more. Maybe he'll even be able to go down the hurricain with you some day!
